Peter Wardle
Peter Wardle has led a distinguished 30 plus year career in entrepreneurial investment businesses. Through the early 1980’s, he was a managing general partner with H.F. Swift & Co, member NYSE (later acquired by Piper Jaffray). From 1983 to 2003, Peter was a founding general partner of Newtek Ventures, a San Francisco based fund with over $100MM under management. While in this role, Peter was involved in 44 venture investments and served on the boards of eight companies. Currently, he serves on three boards: Iomed (ASE) medical devices (board member); Opthonix wave front vision enhancement eyeglasses (board chairman); ConGo Technology start-up mobile content delivery provider (board member). When not working on the next exciting start-up, Peter enjoys exploring the Point Reyes National Seashore.
Mick Fandrich
Mick Fandrich recently left Intel to found ConGo Technology. He spent 27 years as a respected leader at Intel Corporation. He has broad exposure to flash memory, from designing products, to implementing manufacturing systems, running organizations and pioneering new businesses. Mick will tell you that he is very proud of the “small scrappy company” environment that he drove within the Flash Memory Group. In 2006, Mick was a founding director in the NAND group and built the 50 person systems engineering organization from scratch, which was responsible for optimizing the performance of Intel’s flash memory cards and modules, including Intel® Turbo Memory (Robson) cache product in the Santa Rosa mobile computing platform. Prior to this role, Mick ran a start-up team which was chartered to develop low cost NOR based USB Flash Drives, a memory industry first. This team drove the project from initial internal funding to shipping HVM products, which have been retailed at Walmart and Sam’s Club.
As the author of over 44 patents, Mick has deep experience developing and protecting intellectual property. He was also awarded the Intel Achievement Award by Andy Grove for implementing the first flash memory solution in mobile platforms. Mick is an accomplished musician, has performed in several bands, enjoys biking and visiting “the mouse” at Disneyland with his daughters.
Dave Kennerley
Dave Kennerley has over 20 years of experience defining and bringing cool new products to market. He most recently led MVNO Firefly Mobile’s efforts to create a successful mobile content business by building their entire content ecosystem. Firefly users can now provide their customers with a full range of mobile content, from games and ringtones to wallpapers, video and full track music. Previously, he was the Head of Product Management at SkillJam Technologies (a Liberty Media Company), the leader in casual online competitive gaming, where he led the expansion of their product line onto new platforms including mobile and Interactive TV. Prior to his work at SkillJam, Dave was the Chief Architect at Virgin Mobile, where he led Virgin’s growth efforts by synchronizing the capabilities of their network, handsets and applications to launch innovative new products and services. Dave has also held Management positions at Panasonic Mobile Communications and Motorola. He has a BS from the University of Illinois in Champaign, a MEM from Northwestern University and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
Donald Tretheway
Donald Tretheway started his entrepreneurial career at an early age when he bought and sold numerous automobiles in high school. After completing his degree at UCLA, he was a systems engineer for Space Applications Corporation where he consulted to the USAF Satellite Control Network. Next, Donald co-founded Process Research Group, Inc. which designed and developed business process re-engineering software. He later started another firm, Information Management Services which provided scanning and data archival services to small businesses. After completing his MBA at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, Donald worked at Intel for eight years in finance, HVM operations, fab supply and demand optimization, pricing strategy, product marketing and business development. During his tenure as pricing manager for the $2B Flash Memory Group, he re-architected the pricing strategy, leading to its highest ever level of profitability. Donald is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys taking his three kids on camping adventures. |
